Conservation of energy and a comfortable micro-climate within the guest unit: External walls and roofs of all the units are insulated with massive thermal insulation; almost all the glass of the windows is insulatory double-pane glass; most of the windows have a southern exposure in order to enjoy the winter sun; almost all apertures have external shutters, most of the guest units include massive building elements which favor the storage of winter sun, and cooling in the summer; The majority of windows and doors (plus an extra screen door) face the direction of the air currents of the summer breezes; The heating systems are based on efficient heat pumps and independent air conditioning for each room; The water heating system is based on short, insulated supply lines and a well-insulated independent storage system for each guest unit; Here you won't find jacuzzis permanently filled with warm water that has been chlorinated; Lighting in the guest units and in the yard include efficient, energy-saving PL light fixtures.
The water supply system undergoes a filtering process. Part of the water, from the sinks and jacuzzis – is recycled for irrigating the garden. The watering system for the shrubs and fruit trees is based on computerized drip irrigation that works primarily at night.
Most of the cleaning materials used for the guest units are environment-friendly (made by the Swiss SAFECARE Company). The units have been painted with environment-friendly water-based paint.
Everything grown in our yard is organically grown – with no chemical sprays. For instance, pest control based on oil extracted from orange peels.
We support recycling of: plastic bottles, newspapers, office scrap paper, cardboard cartons, glass jars and bottles, scrap metal cans and organic compost for fertilizer. We would appreciate our guests' sorting the various kinds of garbage, and we will see to its recycling treatment.
We love mountain air that is as clear as wine – heating of the guest units in winter, and water heating is electricity-based (no smoking chimneys...).

Many of the attractive sites in the area can be reached by public transport – we'll be happy to direct you. We can recommend many routes for relaxed and environmentally "clean" hiking.
