Info for religious guests
Amirim is a secular village, very considerate of its religious/observant guests:
- Amirim, as a vegetarian/vegan village offers an array of dining facilities based on vegetarian/dairy family kitchens. There are restaurants with a certificate of kashrut - Amirey Hagalil Restaurant (non-vegetarian), and there is a Glatt Kosher breakfast delivery service to your rooms if you wish -- "Sal l'Shnayim" ("Basket for Two" - vegetarian & vegan options). In Meron and Safed you can find Kosher & Glatt Kosher non-vegetarian restaurants.
- There is an active synagogue
- There is a mikveh for women. A mikveh for men is in Bar Yochay neighboring village.
- The swimming pool, open to all only during the summer months - every day during July & August, and in the last weekends of June, and in September weekends - depend on the weather, is situated within an enchanting wadi. Occasionally there is nighttime swimming, and after Tu B'Av - for about 3 weeks - there is separate-sex swimming in the mornings, for men from 8:00 to 9:30, and for women from 9:30 to 11:00. There is also a pool for small children.
- Those of you who wish to depart at the close of the Sabbath – must specifiy this in advance, when you do the booking – and for an additional fee we will confirm this later departure time (Normally, departure time on Shabbat and holidays is at 12:00 noon.)
- We can put at your disposal a Shabbat hot-plate, hot-water pitcher and portable Shabbat timers. The remote heating and cooling systems include a programming option according to the desired functioning times. Also, we'll be happy to provide you with Scotch tape for neutralizing the light switch in the refrigerator.
- Our rich and varied DVD library is available to you at no charge. The library is based only on original, purchased films which include drama, comedy, suspense, action, Israeli, for children, nature and TV serials. Many of the films are appropriate for the religious/observant public.
- All the products that we provide in the kitchenette (Nescafe, Turkish coffee, tea and herb teas, white and brown sugar, and cooking oil), the fruit and the cake, are all bought at stores that carry kosher products.
- Our double beds are not separable. Those interested in separate sleeping arrangements can order a suite with bedroom and living-room, with beds in each room.
