"Ohn-Bar Guesthouse" situated in Moshav Amirim – a vegetarian and vegan village, in the hills of Upper Galilee, south of Safed, on a hill facing the Galilee, Lake Kinneret and the Golan Heights. 600 meters above sea level, Amirim boasts a typical Israeli mountain climate – arid and hot by day and chilly at night during the summer and in-between seasons, while cold and sometimes snowy in the winter. Amirim is located on a southern slope protected from northern winds by the hills of Mount Meron, with sun exposure mainly from the east and the south. The graduated terracing of the surroundings feature an enchanting thicket of lush greenery, fruit and decorative trees, woodsand flowers, granting much privacy. Wooden cabins, wood suites and guest units – each one different with its individual qualities – face the brilliance of the dawn's sunrise or evening's glorious scarlet sunsets. In the yard – seating areas, climbing vines, playground and lounging corners for relaxing, and ample parking space. Most of the units overlook breathtaking views and open horizons. Our fruit trees -- a veritable Garden of Eden orchard – include avocado, walnut, almond, plum, mango, persimmon, olive, lemon, pamela, orange, grapefruit, figs, grapevines, berries and more, plus our organic vegetable garden. The rear units enjoy patios offering seclusion and shade.
We are happy to host romantic couples and families (who love fresh air, without outdoor barbecues!) Our generous plot with its graduated levels and massive greenery affords privacy between the units, while our family units are separate from the ones for couples.
We are constantly upgrading our wooden cabins, wood suites and guest units, doing everything we can to keep our guests satisfied, so they return to us and recommend our place to friends and family – and to this our tens of guest-books offer their testimony of compliments and recommendations. We have engraved on our flag of service the credos of individual care, attention to details, presence around the clock, speedy repairs when required, and personal guidance about the attractions of the vicinity, with emphasis on the streams and brooks, accessibility for the handicapped, special discount rates for soldiers, civilians doing national service and students. The Earth is of paramount importance to us, and environmental preservation is ever-present in our concerns, which include vegetarianism / veganism, insulated and shaded building of all our wooden cabins, wood suites and guest units. Most of our units are exposed to the pleasant winter sun, and to the cool breezes of the summer. We use paint and cleaning materials that are by and large environment-friendly, computerized irrigation, utilizing recycled water resources from sinks and jacuzzis, seeing to the recycling of glass and plastic bottles... and even provide toilet paper made from recycled paper.
